Who I am

From a young age, I have always been fascinated by medicine, the workings of the human body and disease, preferring anatomy textbooks over more typical childhood reads.  As I began my journey into the healthcare field, I was frustrated by the focus on symptomatic relief and the lack of time available for patients who required it to understand what was going on with them.  After seeing family members leave their health care provider’s office with more questions than answers and feeling powerless over their own health, my concepts of what healthcare should include were transformed. It was at this time that I was introduced to Naturopathic medicine.

Naturopathic Medicine focuses its efforts on understanding the root causes of illness and taking the time to educate individuals on what they can do to live healthier lives.  I had found my calling!  After obtaining my bachelor’s degree in general sciences at Laurentian University in Sudbury, I completed my studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto and am now a Naturopathic Doctor.  I am also a proud member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and its Ontario counterpart, the OAND.

My Approach

I strive to understand and treat the root cause of disease while supporting the body’s natural healing capacities in an effort to provide permanent symptom relief.  I believe that educating individuals on their own health and how to listen to their body empowers them by giving them the confidence to make better health related decisions.

I specialize in women’s health, hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal problems, as well as environmental and dietary sensitivities.  During my internship, I worked in Pediatrics at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and with individuals living with HIV at the Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto.  Although vastly different, these experiences helped shape my understanding of the human body and how individuals relate differently to their own health.

I use all forms of therapies accessible through my training as a Naturopathic Doctor including Botanical Medicine, Physical Medicine, Homeopathy, Hydrotherapy, Laboratory Testing and Nutritional Supplementation with an emphasis on Nutritional and Lifestyle counseling.

Personal Beliefs

I believe in a health care system that includes all health care professionals working together with the patient in to order to help them achieve full health and a good quality of life.  My approach to medicine is focused on empowering and motivating my clients to make the necessary changes to help them achieve their goals.  I see my role as that of a teacher and a guide, here to facilitate my patient’s process of re-establishing their health.

I understand that simple lifestyle and dietary modifications can have the biggest impact on one’s health and therefore I strive to help my patients adopt these changes to support their body’s natural healing capacities by providing it with the necessary tools with which to heal.

I offer services in both French and English and strive to make sure that my clients leave the clinic with new knowledge and a better understanding of what’s happening in their bodies.
